About this scheme
The Music Capital Fund offers grants of £10,000–£40,000 to small and medium music businesses based in Wales for capital investment. The aim is to help businesses identify areas of their establishment and operations in need of capital investment, improving commercial outlook and sustainability.
Eligible businesses must demonstrate that their main function is to programme, record and rehearse original music and host/promote live music events of a commercial nature. Covers contemporary popular music genres (electronic, hip-hop, indie, alternative, metal, punk, rock, pop). Sole traders, partnerships and limited companies welcome.
Not for businesses predominantly hosting classical or jazz — support for those genres exists with Arts Council of Wales. Third round awarded over £700,000 to 21 businesses including venues, studios and arts centres across Wales.
